Professional Background:

Dr. Rodriguez’s research interests are in coastal geology, sedimentology, depositional processes and environments, and sequence stratigraphy. He is particularly interested in examining how coastal depositional environments respond to changes in sea level and climate. Some recent and ongoing research projects include:

  1. Examining the Holocene evolution of estuaries along the Northern
Gulf of Mexico and mid Atlantic margins.
  2. Evaluating the controls on incised-valley morphology and fill architecture.
  3. Examining variations in beach erosion and barrier island evolution
    and morphodynamics.
  4. Assessing the impact of climate change and associated sea-level
    rise on coastal areas.

Please contact Dr. Rodriguez if you are interested in graduate studies or would like to learn more about the research his lab is conducting.
